Encouraging innovation in existing firms, as well as the creation of new high-technology enterprises. To this end Democenter-Sipe Foundation has set up an integrated system of supports to ensure that good ideas are transformed into projects and the projects become companies.

This activity takes place through:

• Marketplace of ideas: assistance for those who want to concretely realize a business project and still need to verify whether it is feasible. Democenter-Sipe provides the services of a committee of experts, a tutor, and a consulting service for drawing up and completing a business plan.
• Investors Club: Democenter-Sipe coordinates a pool of non-institutional investors who meet periodically to select the best ideas, presented through business plans, so that they can finance them and transform them into companies.
• Virtual Incubator: Democenter-Sipe Foundation is setting up an incubator capable of providing real services targeted at innovative start-ups, prevalently via web, to help pave the way for them in the first months of life.
• Hi-tech start-ups club: meetings, training courses, participation in trade exhibitions and networks, services: the Club – which 24 firms have already joined – will provide opportunities for supporting the growth of innovative start-ups.

Intraprendere a Modena
Democenter-Sipe Foundation manages the contest organized by the provincial authority and Chamber of Commerce of Modena with the involvement of businesses associations. Over 600 start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs have taken part since 2001.

Innova Day
Each year, Democenter-Sipe Foundation and the University organize a two-day initiative with matching, pitching and networking events for start-ups and spin-offs that are looking for suppliers, partners and financial backers in order to develop their potentialities.
